Minterra Drills 9.7% Zinc With Silver and Gold at Majuba Hill Project in Nevada

VANCOUVER, BRITISH COLUMBIA--(Marketwire - May 12, 2008) - Minterra Resource Corp. ("Minterra" or the "Company") (TSX VENTURE: MTR.V) is pleased to report that the results from the Phase 2 drilling at Majuba Hill have returned good zinc, silver, and gold results from multiple near-surface intercepts. The Phase 2 drilling completed 4,465 feet in 5 reverse-circulation drill holes (See attached Drill Location Map). Utilizing specialized equipment from Lang Exploratory Drilling the company drilled four out of the five drill holes as horizontal and near-horizontal holes. Due to the very steep hill slopes this allowed the holes to drill across the targets for long lengths.

Drill holes MH-10 and MH-11 were drilled on the Section 35 Target (100% Minterra private surface and mineral). The two holes were horizontal and drilled in a westerly direction. Extremely anomalous zinc (greater than 0.2% Zn) and silver (greater than 0.3 opt Ag) was intersected from the beginning of the holes (See Section 35 Drill Results Map).

Significant intervals include:
MH-10 (Zinc) 00 feet @1.27% Zn/310-410 ft (approx. 225 ft below surface)
  Including 10 feet @ 9.7% Zn/380-390 ft
    75 feet @ 0.49% Zn/610-685 ft (approx. 450 ft below surface)
MH-10 (Gold) No Significant Intervals
MH-10 (Silver) 45 feet @ 0.83 opt Ag/365-410 ft
  Including 10 feet @ 2.3 opt Ag/380-390 ft
    20 feet @ 0.7 opt Ag/540-560 ft
  Including 5 ft @ 1.2 opt Ag/545-550 ft

MH-11 (Zinc) 100 feet @ 1.1% Zn/230 - 330 ft (approx. 150 ft below surface)
  Including 20 feet @ 3.1% Zn/260-280 ft and 15 feet @ 1.8% Zn/310-325 ft
MH-11 (Gold) 5 feet @ 0.2 opt Au/155-160 ft
    15 feet @ 0.09 opt Au/585-600 ft.
MH-11 (Silver) 5 feet @ 1.9 opt Ag/290-295 ft
    25 feet @ 0.65 opt Ag/565-590 ft
  Including 5 feet @ 1.8 opt Ag/565-570 ft.

Drill holes MH-12 and MH-14 drill tested the Line Drive Target. MH-12 was near horizontal with a -12 degree inclination and MH-14 was drilled with a -30 degree inclination. Both holes drilled in an easterly direction (See Line Drive Drill Results Map).

Significant intervals include:
MH-12 (Zinc) No significant intervals
MH-12 (Gold) No significant intervals
MH-12 (Silver) 45 feet @ 0.53 opt Ag/410-455 ft
  Including 5 feet @ 1.1 opt Ag/410-415 ft and
     5 feet @ 1.2 opt Ag/450-455 ft
    10 feet @ 0.96 opt Ag/510-520 ft
  Including 5 feet @ 1.2 opt Ag/515-520 ft
    15 feet @ 0.6 opt Ag/745-760 ft
  Including 5 feet @ 1.3 opt Ag/745-750 ft

MH-14 (Zinc) 75 feet @ 0.39% Zn/860-935 ft (approx. 140 feet below surface)
  Including 5 feet @ 1.04% Zn/885-890 ft
MH-14 (Gold) No significant intervals
MH-14 (Silver) No significant intervals.

The drill results and mapping and sampling from the Phase 1 and 2 drill programs at Majuba Hill are very encouraging. Phase 2 drill targeting was based on an Induced Polarization Geophysical Survey completed in 2007. The IP results indicated a flat-bottomed conductive body that was interpreted to be a chalcocite "blanket". The drilling intersected broad zones of plus 0.1% copper however the IP anomaly appears to be related to pyrite, chalcopyrite, and arsenopyrite.

The Phase 2 zinc, silver, and gold drill results have outlined specific zones that warrant additional detailed drilling. All of the drilling, surface geochemistry and geologic mapping completed indicates that Majuba Hill is a large porphyry-type system with significant metal zoning. Encouraging results in the Section 35 Target area (MH-10 and 11)occur along a northeast trending dike zone. The dike zone extends in a radial pattern from an intrusive center located 3,000 feet to the west; centered between the Myler Target and the Line Drive Target areas (See Drill Location Map).

Section 35 drill hole mineralized zones occur along the dike zone. Detailed surface road cut channel-sampling and mapping is in progress and initial results from sampling in the Section 35 Target area have outlined a zone 214 feet long that averages 0.4% zinc (12 samples 9 to 20 feet long). This surface zone cuts perpendicular across the northeast trending dike zone and is over 800 feet from the drill intercepts in MH-10 and MH-11. Drill results in the Line Drive Target (MH-12 and 14) occur to the southeast of the intrusive center and are within a zone of dikes trending southeastward from the center. Drill hole MH-13 (40 feet @ 0.16% copper/240-270 ft) is within the Myler zone (leachable copper target) which is westward from the intrusive center and is cut by a series of west trending dikes. Copper, silver, and zinc zonation around the intrusive center may provide the geologic controls for significant economic mineralization.

The current work program will focus on surface sampling and mapping to:

- Define specific drill target locations to offset the mineralization in MH-11 and MH-12

- Determine the extent of the mineralized zones in the Section 35 area (zinc-silver-gold)

- Expand the leachable copper-silver zones in the Myler Target

- Delineate additional targets

Sample collection was completed by Lang Exploratory drilling personnel and was supervised on-site by Minterra geologists. Samples were delivered directly to the ALS Chemex sample preparation facility in Winnemucca Nevada. All assays were completed by ALS Chemex. E.L.
