MADISON, Wis., April 2 /PRNewswire/ -- Thompson Plumb Funds, Inc. is taking a team approach to the management of the Thompson Plumb Growth Fund (Nasdaq: THPGX) and the Thompson Plumb Bond Fund (Nasdaq: THOPX). This strategy mimics the current process utilized for the Thompson Plumb MidCap Fund (Nasdaq: THPMX) which is also managed by John W. Thompson, James Evans and Jason Stephens. While John W. Thompson has been managing the Thompson Plumb Growth Fund since inception, he is looking forward to adapting the process designed by the three men for the MidCap Fund to the operations of the Growth and Bond Funds.

Mr. Evans has been with the firm since March 2005 and was formerly the Managing Director and Investment Analyst for Nakoma Capital Management while Jason Stephens has been with the firm since 2002. Both men hold their Chartered Financial Analyst designation and a Masters Degree from the University of Wisconsin-Madison Business School.

Mutual fund investing involves risk. Principal loss is possible. Small-capitalization and mid-capitalization companies tend to have limited liquidity and greater price volatility than large-capitalization companies. Investments in debt securities typically decrease in value when interest rates rise. This risk is usually greater for longer-term debt securities. Investment by the Fund in lower-rated and non-rated securities presents a greater risk of loss to principal and interest than higher-rated securities.
