CHICAGO--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Today, Chicagoland and Northwest Indiana McDonald’s restaurants debuted a new line of hamburgers – Angus Third Pounders – made with 100 percent U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA)-inspected Angus beef, with fresh produce and savory ingredients such as red onions, sautéed mushrooms, crisp green iceberg lettuce and sliced red tomatoes, served on a bakery-style sesame seed roll.
“We’ve been perfecting our Angus Third Pounders for more than two years,” said Ron Lofton, president of McDonald’s Owner/Operators of Chicagoland and Northwest Indiana (MOCNI). “Our three savory flavors demonstrate McDonald’s commitment to premium quality and freshness at always convenient prices.”
The Angus Third Pounders, available at participating McDonald’s restaurants in Chicagoland and Northwest Indiana, come in three varieties: Angus Deluxe, Angus Mushroom and Swiss, and Angus Bacon and Cheese, for a suggested retail price of $3.99 each.
“The addition of Angus Third Pounders to our menu allows McDonald’s to accommodate all appetites,” said Lofton. “Whether you’re stopping in for a quick snack or craving an Angus Third Pounder, our menu has expanded to meet customers’ tastes.”
These new hamburgers showcase a flavorful Angus Beef patty on a warm, fresh sesame seed bakery roll. The Angus Deluxe features melted American cheese, sliced red onions and freshly sliced red tomatoes, green leaf iceberg lettuce, mustard and mayonnaise. The Angus Mushroom and Swiss features sautéed mushrooms, melted Swiss cheese and mayonnaise. The Angus Bacon and Cheese features crispy strips of bacon, melted American cheese, sliced red onions, mustard, ketchup and pickles.
