La Mancha's Exploration Program in Cote d'Ivoire Continues to Generate Strong Results

Tue Jun 3, 11:46 AM

MONTREAL, QUEBEC--(Marketwire - June 3, 2008) - BEST INTERSECTIONS INCLUDE:

- 31.00 m at 2.82 g/t Au from 9.00 m

- 19.45 m at 3.57 g/t Au from 0.00 m

- 4.00 m at 16.29 g/t Au from 26.75 m

- 7.45 m at 6.89 g/t Au from 55.45 m

La Mancha Resources Inc. (TSX: LMA.TO)("La Mancha" or the "Company") is pleased to report additional significant results of exploration drilling at its Ity mine in Cote D'Ivoire. Only weeks after reporting high-grade intercepts at the Mount Ity extension and the Walter anomaly (see press releases dated February 22 and April 8, 2008), many new shallow, high-grade zones have been intersected at a third target, the Zia extension.

During Phase I of a recently-initiated exploration program, 42 holes were drilled on seventeen lines for a total of 3,051.6 m. All the holes drilled returned positive results, and several high-grade zones were intersected, the best result being 31.00 m at 2.82 g/t Au from 9.00 m including 3.00 m at 7.98 g/t Au from 28.00 m. Full drill results are shown in Table 1 of the appendix, and the location of the drill holes is shown in Figure 2. The cross-section in Figure 3 shows that these values occur in mineralization similar to that of the current reserve envelope of the Mount Ity pit, which recently entered into production.

The shallow depth of the high-grade intersections suggests that new resources could be added and quickly transformed into reserves; many of the drill holes intersected anomalous zones from surface on down in lateritic material, which is very easy to mine and process. Preliminary results also indicate that the mineralized body remains open to the north and especially northwest where some drills holes present interesting intersection such as DD 617, 643 and 644 at the limit of the studied zone, as shown in figure 2.

The Zia extension covers an area of at least twelve hectares adjacent to the former Flotouo-Zia pit and only 0.5km from the processing plant (see Appendix, Figure 1).

Michel Cuilhe, Chairman and CEO of La Mancha, noted: "We are taking a fairly aggressive approach to exploration in the vicinity of our current operations in Cote d'Ivoire. Our tactics are similar to last year's exploration at our Frog's Leg project in Australia, which resulted in a 167% increase in the project's resources over the last 18 months. We are looking for similar success at our Ity mine, and we feel we are on track with the positive drill results obtained so far."

Previous exploration activities conducted on the Ity property by the former owner date back to 2002. Shortly after acquiring the property, La Mancha reinstated exploration as a priority for mine development, which led to a new drilling program in November 2007. The objectives of this program are to evaluate the north eastern extension of the Mount Ity deposit and test the Walter anomaly, the Zia extension and various other mineralized areas on both sides of the Cavally river. A total budget of $2.1 million ($1.0 million to be funded by La Mancha) was approved earlier this year for exploration of the Ity mine property in 2008.

NEXT STEPS

Additional drilling is planned on the recently-tested Mount Ity extension and the Walter anomaly. Moreover, the Company will test the Zia extension outbound and areas on both sides of the Cavally river, near the current mine operation. A resource update will be carried out during the third quarter of 2008, when drilling is suspended due to the rainy season.

Mr. Cuilhe added: "The consistently-strong results generated since exploration resumed at the Ity mine last November illustrate the property's great potential. We are confident that the remainder of the program will yield more excellent results, and look forward to the results of the resource update later this year."

TECHNICAL NOTE

The technical information contained in this news release was prepared under the supervision of Jean-Jacques Kachrillo, the Qualified Person under NI 43-101. Mr. Kachrillo is Vice President Exploration and a full time employee of La Mancha Resources. He has sufficient experience in the style of mineralization and type of deposit to qualify as a Qualified Person as defined in the 2005 Edition of "National Instruments 43-101, Standards of Disclosure for Mineral Projects". Based on his information, Mr. Kachrillo has consented to the content of this press release in the form and context in which it appears. Mr. Kachrillo has read the National Instrument 43-101 of the Canadian Securities Administrators ("NI 43-101") and has ensured that this press release has been written in compliance with the Instrument.

La Mancha has established an Analytical Quality Assurance Program to control and assure the analytical quality of assays in its gold exploration. This program includes the systematic addition of blank samples, pulp duplicates and internal material references ("standards") to each batch of samples sent for analysis. Blank samples are used to check for possible contamination in laboratory, duplicates allow the overall precision to be quantified while standards determine the analytical accuracy. All samples are half HQ (laterite and saprolite), and NQ (fresh rock) diamond drill core sampled on a one metre basis. Samples were assayed at Ity mine laboratories on the site, using 50g LeachWell cyanide leach, and 20 to 25g well leached attacks, followed by solvent extraction and flame AAS. The average true widths are more than 75% of the intersection length.
