Geoinformatics Identifies Extensive Silver and Copper-Molybdenum Anomalies at its La Noria Project in Mexico

Wed Jun 4, 3:37 PM

Rock-chip grades up to 1,020 g/t silver and 0.75% Molybdenum

TORONTO, June 4 /CNW/ - Geoinformatics Exploration Inc. (TSX-V: GXL.V) ("Geoinformatics" or the "Company") is pleased to announce that it has identified two new large polymetallic geochemistry anomalies known as "El Tiro" and "El Zapote East" on its La Noria Project ("La Noria") in Sinaloa, Mexico. The new areas are in addition to the National Instrument (NI) 43-101 polymetallic mineral resource on the Azulitas Prospect and the new previously-announced discoveries at the Los Laureles and Mozulitas Prospects on the property.

    Highlights

    - Surface geochemical sampling at El Tiro revealed:

        - High-grade rock-chip samples up to 0.75% molybdenum and 33.2 grams
           per tonne (g/t) silver.

        - An area 1,000 metres by 700 metres with a copper soil anomaly
averaging 720 parts per million (ppm) copper, 1.2 g/t silver and
17 parts per billion (ppb) gold.

    - The El Tiro anomaly is enclosed entirely within a larger copper
soil anomaly exceeding 200 ppm over an area of 2.7 km. by
              1.2 km.

    - Surface geochemical sampling at El Zapote East revealed:

        - High-grade rock-chip samples up to 1,020 g/t silver (29.7 ounces
           per ton).

        - An area 780 metres by 200 metres with a polymetallic soil anomaly
averaging 7.8 g/t silver, 620 ppm copper, 32 ppm molybdenum,
800 ppm lead and 617 ppm zinc.

    - The El Zapote East anomaly is entirely enclosed within a larger
silver soil anomaly exceeding 2.0 g/t silver over 1.1 km. by
              800 metres.

Darren Holden, Executive Vice President of Geoinformatics commented, "The El Zapote East anomaly is of particular geological and economic interest as it hosts some of the highest continuous concentrations of lead-zinc-silver in soil samples found to-date at La Noria. The association of these minerals is a possible indication of a different and more distal style of mineralization compared to that discovered at Azulitas, Los Laureles and Mozulitas. In addition, El Tiro is an extremely interesting prospect with one of the largest continuous geochemical anomalies on the property. With several soil samples above 1,500 ppm copper, and extremely high-grade rock chip samples up to 0.75% molybdenum, this prospect has become yet another highly prospective drill target at La Noria."

Geoinformatics has developed an aggressive one-year work program for La Noria which includes drill-out to the Indicated Resource category on Azulitas, Los Laureles and Mozulitas, as well as reconnaissance drilling on other prospects, such as Amarillito, El Tiro and El Zapote East. Following the completion of the work program, a preliminary economic assessment ("Scoping Study") will be commenced on the project which will assess the possibility of combining resources from the various prospects to support an integrated mining operation.

La Noria NI 43-101 Resource and Discoveries

The two new exploration prospects will complement the previously announced NI 43-101-compliant resource and other discoveries at La Noria which include:

Azulitas: Azulitas hosts an NI 43-101-compliant Inferred Mineral Resource
of 5.63 million tonnes grading 0.54% copper, 12.2 g/t silver,
0.08 g/t gold and 0.04% molybdenum which comes to surface.

Los Laureles: Los Laureles drilling has produced numerous mineralized
intersections including 107 metres grading 0.12% molybdenum
                  (0.20% MoS(2)), 0.14% copper, 0.08 g/t gold and 11.9 g/t
silver within a breccia zone which comes to surface with a
mapped extent and surface geochemistry anomaly over
750 metres long to 180 metres wide.

Mozulitas: Mozulitas has confirmed mineralization over a strike length of
75 metres from two drill holes to-date with drill intercepts
up to 57 metres grading 0.10% molybdenum, including 12 metres
               grading 0.32% molybdenum.

Amarillito: Amarillito has two drill holes to-date which include
                65 metres grading 0.31% copper and 11.6 g/t silver.

El Zapote East Prospect

El Zapote East is located approximately 3 km. north of Los Laureles. Regional reconnaissance soil geochemistry on a grid of 100 metres by 50 metres revealed a geochemical soil anomaly averaging 7.8 g/t silver, 620 ppm copper, 32 ppm molybdenum, 800 ppm lead and 617 ppm zinc over an area 780 metres by 200 metres. It is enclosed entirely within a much larger soil anomaly of greater than 2 g/t silver over an area of 1.1 km. by 800 metres. Rock-chip samples in the area are as high as 1,020 g/t silver (29.7 ounces per ton). The soil anomaly is open to the north.

The El Tiro Prospect

El Tiro is located approximately 3 km. east of Los Laureles. Regional reconnaissance and prospecting identified several areas of outcropping breccias similar to the Los Laureles breccia. A subsequent soil sampling program based on a 100-metre by 100-metre grid revealed a large soil anomaly over 2.7 km. in length by 1.2 km. in width with greater than 200 ppm copper in soils. Within this anomaly are several high-tenor areas including an area known as "El Tiro Centro" which is approximately 1,000 metres by 700 metres with soil samples averaging 720 ppm copper, 1.2 g/t silver and 17 ppb gold. In addition, two molybdenum anomalies each over 500 metres long and 200 metres to 500 metres in width were also identified. Rare and scattered outcrop produced rock-chip samples up to 0.75% molybdenum and 33.2 g/t silver were also identified. The soil anomaly is still open to the west, and recent reconnaissance work has found scattered breccia bodies between El Tiro and Los Laureles that could possibly provide a geological and structural link between the two prospects.

About La Noria

La Noria consists of mineral claims and option agreements covering an area of approximately 202 sq. km. in low-rolling hills approximately 60 km. northeast of the major port of Mazatlan in the State of Sinaloa. It lies 35 km. from a main rail-line and is intersected by numerous roads and tracks that are accessible for most of the year and is serviced with electric power. Geoinformatics recently extended the mineral claims to the east. Geoinformatics' current objective at La Noria is to identify sufficient resources from several prospects, including the Azulitas NI 43-101-compliant resource, to support an integrated mining operation.

BDL indicates "below detection limit". Soil samples were collected by digging 3 small pits approximately 20 centimetres deep and sieving in a single soil sample. Rock chip samples were collected as either in-situ rock-chip or proximal float. All samples were prepared by ALS Chemex in Hermosillo, Mexico, and then sent to ALS Chemex laboratory for ICP AES with 3-acid digest. Blank and duplicate quality control samples are inserted for soil sampling at a ratio of approximately 1:11. Conversions: 1,000 ppb = 1 ppm = 1 g/t. 10,000 ppm = 1%
