PARIS (Reuters) - French President Nicolas Sarkozy spoke to British Prime Minister Gordon Brown and European Central Bank President Jean-Claude Trichet on Monday about the global financial markets crisis, Sarkozy's office said.

The telephone conversations took place two days after the leaders of France, Britain, Germany and Italy met in Paris on the same issue with Trichet and European Commission President Jose Manuel Barroso.

Sarkozy also spoke to Barroso on Monday, an official in Sarkozy's office told reporters on condition of anonymity. The official did not provide any details on the content of the conversations.
