FRANKLIN, Wis.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Alluma Tech (www.allumatech.com) announced that it has received a Gold Award for its Crown Royal LED sign at the recent Popai, 2008 OMA Awards. It was the first Gold award for Alluma Techs new line of energy efficient Lite Tech products.
POPAIs Outstanding Merchandising Achievement Awards recognizes the most innovative and effective marketing at-retail displays and programs which lift sales and make products memorable and enticing to consumers. The annual competition celebrated its 50th Anniversary.
The Crown Royal sign was developed for Integrated Merchandising Systems (www.imsfastpak.com) which is a leading merchandising service agency that provides point of sale services for Crown Royal.
The Brand Group for Integrated Merchandising Systems was very excited about winning this award for Crown Royal, said Lanny Lancaster, Vice President National Accounts with Alluma Tech. They said when they first saw the unit that it was an award winner. Our objective was to create a sign that was an alternative to neon but still had great visual impact and would clearly communicate that Crown Royal was available. The sign with the crown on pillow gives the appearance of a more distinguished piece of POS instead of everyday neon or backlit signs, said Lancaster.
Alluma Techs line of Lite Tech LED products provide excellent lighting features at dramatically lower field placement costs. The Lite Tech designs offer a low profile illuminated sign that replaces old fluorescent illumination at a brightness that can match neon. As a GREEN alternative product it offers an energy savings of 40% to 50%. Packaging and distribution costs are also reduced dramatically for the most environmentally friendly sign option in the marketplace.
LEDs have been around in various applications for years but they had drawbacks for POP signs, said Ray Starsiak, Executive Vice President of Alluma Tech. To achieve brightness, LEDs are often overpowered leading to short life and dim out. The new Lite Tech product line developments offer a custom built transformer that adjusts to match the series of LEDs for maximum brightness without overpowering. In addition, neon glass phosphors are used to enhance the screening inks to bring up light levels to match neon illumination for a brighter and longer lasting sign, added Starsiak.
We are really proud that our energy efficient Lite Tech product won a Gold Award. I think it demonstrates that this is a win-win product providing both excellent promotional support for a client while also saving energy, said Mike Nissen, President of Alluma Tech.
