Crown Point Introduces New Management and Provides Operational Update

VANCOUVER, BRITISH COLUMBIA--(Marketwire - April 8, 2008) - Crown Point Ventures Ltd. ("The Company") (TSX VENTURE: CWV.V) is pleased to announce that in addition to his current role as General Manager of the company's Argentine subsidiary, Crown Point Oil and Gas SA, Mr. Jonathan Barlow has been appointed Vice President, Corporate Development for the company. This appointment is in response to the growing portfolio of assets the company now has interests in, and to support the anticipated level of external attention as the company advances these projects. LAGUNA DE PIEDRA

The company is also pleased to announce that the 250km2 3D seismic program on its Laguna de Piedra exploration block in the Rio Negro province of Argentina has commenced. Topographical work and acquisition of the seismic data is expected to take approximately 6 weeks after which time the company is expected to begin analyzing and interpreting the data in order to produce target areas for drilling.

EL VALLE

The company is also pleased to announce that negotiations with 'Lago del Desierto' regarding the 'El Valle' production concession in the San Jorge basin have successfully concluded. The 'Assignment and Transfer Agreement' has been presented to the Santa Cruz provincial energy company 'FOMICRUZ' for approval after which time Crown Point will prepare a work plan to further develop the concession.
