Northern Continental Announces Closing of Private Placement

VANCOUVER, BRITISH COLUMBIA--(Marketwire - May 9, 2008) - Northern Continental Resources Inc. ("Northern Continental") (TSX VENTURE: NCR.V) announces the closing of a $220,150 private placement (originally announced on April 2, 2008 at $272,650), consisting of the sale of 629,000 units at a price of $0.35 per unit, each unit consisting of one common share and one share purchase warrant, with each warrant entitling the holder to purchase one additional common share at a price of $0.40 until April 7, 2010.

All of the securities issued in connection with the closing of this private placement are subject to a hold period in Canada until August 8, 2008.
