Macquarie/First Trust Global Infrastructure/Utilities Dividend & Income Fund Declares Its Quarterly Distribution of $0.15 Per Share

WHEATON, Ill.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Macquarie/First Trust Global Infrastructure/Utilities Dividend & Income Fund (the “Fund”) (NYSE: MFD) today declared its regularly scheduled quarterly distribution of $0.15 per share, payable on December 1, 2009 to shareholders of record as of November 20, 2009. The ex-dividend date is expected to be November 18, 2009.

Distribution Rate based on the November 9, 2009 closing market price of $11.69: 5.13%

A portion of the distribution may be treated as paid from sources other than net investment income, including short-term capital gain, long-term capital gain and return of capital. The final determination of the source and tax status of all distributions paid in 2009 will be made after the end of 2009.

The Fund is a non-diversified, closed-end management investment company, investing predominantly in listed infrastructure and utilities companies in selected developed countries globally. The Fund’s investment objective is to seek a high level of current return consisting of dividends, interest and other similar income, while attempting to preserve capital.

First Trust Advisors L.P., the Fund’s investment advisor, along with its affiliate First Trust Portfolios L.P., are privately-held companies which provide a variety of investment services, including asset management, financial advisory services, and municipal and corporate investment banking, with collective assets under management or supervision of approximately $22 billion as of October 31, 2009 through closed-end funds, unit investment trusts, mutual funds, separate managed accounts and exchange-traded funds.

The Fund's Core Component, which consists primarily of equity securities and equity-like securities issued by infrastructure issuers, is managed by MCIM, which started operations in 2004 with the launch of the Fund. MCIM and its Australia-based affiliate Macquarie Capital Investment Management (Australia) Ltd. managed approximately $2.0 billion of assets as of September 30, 2009, in its global infrastructure portfolios, including the Fund. The Fund's Senior Loan Component is managed by Four Corners, which was founded in 2001 and became a wholly-owned, indirect subsidiary of Macquarie Group in 2008. Four Corners managed approximately $2.4 billion of assets as of September 30, 2009, with an emphasis on Senior Loans.
