TORONTO - The Toronto Stock Exchange is investigating a delay that stopped trading of Jovian Capital Corp.'s (TSX: JOV.TO) Horizons BetaPro exchange traded funds at the open Tuesday morning.
"The root cause of this delay remains under investigation and the TSX hopes to have the situation corrected shortly with a resumption in trading," Jovian said in a release.
Stocks halted included the Horizons BetaPro S&P/TSX series issues Capped Energy Bull Plus ETF (TSX: HEU.TO), Capped Energy Bear Plus ETF (TSX: HED.TO), Global Mining Bear Plus ETF (TSX: HMD.TO), and the Nasdaq-100 Bull Plus ETF (TSX: HQU.TO) and Nasdaq-100 Bear Plus ETF (TSX: HQD.TO).
BetaPro, a Jovian subsidiary, is the only provider of leveraged exchange traded funds in Canada, securities that allow investors to profit when the market is rising or falling, or to reduce their risk by hedging existing market exposure.
Jovian manages about $14 billion worth of client assets.
