NEW YORK--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Universal Republic songwriter/performer COLBIE CAILLAT was nominated today for an American Music Award in the category of Breakthrough Artists and will be presented with the RISING STAR AWARD at the Billboard Women in Music event on October 24 in New York. The Women In Music event was established to recognize extraordinary women in the music industry who have made significant contributions to the business and who, through their hard work and continued success, inspire generations of women to take on increasing responsibilities within the field.

On November 11, Universal Republic will release COLBIE CAILLAT’S COCO - DELUXE EDITION, a new version of her platinum debut, chock full of new songs and live material. The new CD will feature three new Caillat compositions, live versions of “Tell Him” and “Turn Your Lights Down Low”, the Dusty Springfield classic “Brand New Me” recorded with the Wailers, and a song with Latin superstar Juanes. All new songs are available for purchase as a bundle on iTunes.

Caillat’s COCO was released in July 07 and debuted at #3 on the Billboard Album charts. The album has spawned the hit singles, including Realize, Little Things and the ubiquitous smash Bubbly. In the last l3 months she’s toured US, Europe, Australia and Asia non-stop, where her infectious songs and “winning delivery” (LA Times) has catapulted her into prominent membership in the “new wave of troubadours luring fans of all ages into a peaceful, easy feeling (USA Today)”.

Caillat has always cited Bob Marley and Lauryn Hill as major influences and gives them a nod every night in concert. Live versions of “Turn Your Lights Down Low” and her “Tell Him” are on COCO-THE DELUXE EDITION . Earlier this year, Caillat met Juanes in Japan and they became fast friends. She added vocals to his hit track “Hoy me voy” for this new edition. Other new songs include “Older”, Circle’s”, and “Something Special”, a signature song for the NBC broadcast of the 2008 Summer Olympics, all co-written with producer Mikal Blue.

Caillat continues to tour through the end of the year and performed a duet with Taylor Swift on her new release.
