Euro at 1.49 dlrs for first time since August 2008
Wed Oct 14, 4:05 AMLONDON (AFP) - The European single currency surged above 1.49 dollars here on Wednesday, reaching a level last seen in August 2008, as economic confidence boosted investor appetite for riskier assets, dealers said.
At 0750 GMT, the euro jumped to a 14-month pinnacle at 1.4901 dollars, up from 1.4852 dollars in New York late on Tuesday
