SARBE and McMurdo Enjoy Excellent First Day at Paris Air Show 2009

PAUL, Minn.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Digital Angel (NASDAQ: DIGA), an advanced technology company in the field of animal identification and emergency identification solutions, announced today that its SARBE and McMurdo units had an excellent first day at Paris Air Show 2009, with high levels of interest shown in the range of SARBE and McMurdo Locator Beacons and Survival Radio equipment.

Of particular note in the Signature Industries exhibit is the SARBE Advanced Aircrew Personal Locator Beacon (AAPLB), which was launched in 2008 and has now been sold to six countries, including the UK Ministry of Defense. All sales have been to military/government organizations with the largest so far being the £4.6m British MoD PELS contract awarded in September 2008. From the McMurdo product portfolio, the FAST FIND PLB has surpassed all sales expectations, with over 9,000 units sold in the first quarter of 2009.

The termination of monitoring of 121.5MHz Personal Locator Beacons is continuing to drive customers towards the latest generation products featuring digital alerts on 406MHz and embedded GPS for location accuracy.
