VICTORVILLE, Calif., July 16 /PRNewswire/ -- Heritage Victor Valley Medical Group today announced the appointment of Dr. Rita Miranda as hospitalist for Heritage Victor Valley Medical Group. Dr. Miranda will provide inpatient physician services for any HVVMG patients admitted to St. Mary Medical Center and Victor Valley Community Hospital.

When Dr. Rita Miranda volunteered as a Candy Striper at St. Mary Medical Center in Apple Valley, little did she dream she would return to serve the community in the same hospital where her love of medicine began.

The Charles R. Drew/UCLA School of Medicine grad received her undergraduate degree from the University of California, San Diego. Dr. Miranda completed her Residency in Internal Medicine and Staff Hospitalist at Harbor-UCLA Medical Center as well as her Internship in Internal Medicine. Dr. Miranda has come home to help ensure that patients receive the quality care that she believes Heritage Victor Valley Medical Group has a tradition of providing. "It's a rare opportunity to work with such a well-respected medical group in the first place, but in your hometown is an opportunity that I could not pass up," Dr. Miranda said.

"Dr. Miranda exemplifies the qualities we look for in physicians who are invested in our community," stated Marlene Turner, Administrator and Chief Operating Officer of Heritage Victor Valley Medical Group; "A patient's comfort with their doctor is vital to understanding their needs and quickly assessing their treatment."
