American National Announces Promotions

DANVILLE, Va., July 18 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- American National Bank & Trust Company (Nasdaq: AMNB) announced today the promotion of three executives to newly-created operating positions. The organizational changes and promotions were approved by the Bank's Board of Directors at its regular monthly meeting on July 15, 2008.

Jeffrey V. Haley was named President of Trust and Financial Services. In this new position, he will be the executive in charge of the Trust and Investment Services division, the investor and brokerage group, insurance, secondary mortgage lending and operations, and the Bank's relationship management program. The bank has over $450 million of trust and investments assets under management. Formerly Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer, Haley will remain as an Executive Vice President of the Bank.

S. Cabell Dudley, Jr. will serve as Executive Vice President and Chief Lending Officer. The Bank's Regional Executives will report to him and he will have overall responsibility for commercial and retail lending. He has been serving as Senior Vice President for Commercial Banking in the Bank's Lynchburg Region.

Dabney T.P. (Dexter) Gilliam, Jr. has been named Executive Vice President and Chief Administrative Officer. In that role, he will have responsibility for branch administration and development, marketing, human resources and facilities management. He was previously a Senior Vice President in the Danville office.

Neal A. Petrovich, Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer, and R. Helm Dobbins, Executive Vice President and Chief Credit Officer, will remain in their current roles. All five Executive Vice Presidents will report to Charles H. Majors, President and Chief Executive Officer, and will join him as members of the Bank's Executive Management Group.
