New Wave Entertainment Names New Executive Team

BURBANK, Calif., July 18 /PRNewswire/ -- Rick Nowak has been promoted to COO at New Wave Entertainment, handling the day-to-day operations of the rapidly expanding production and marketing company. In addition, Alan Duke has been upped to Executive Vice-President, General Counsel, and Greg Woertz to Executive Vice-President, CFO.

The exec trio will oversee operations for all New Wave services and brands, which include TV & film production, talent management, home entertainment, finishing, motion graphics/av promo division The Studio at New Wave, and Zoo Street Music.

New Wave previously announced that Alan Baral left his position as Co-CEO as of July 3rd, but will continue with New Wave as a consultant as he pursues opportunities outside the company. Paul Apel remains with the company as owner and CEO.

Rick Nowak joined New Wave in 1997 as Head of the Finishing Division. In 2000, he was named VP of Post Production for the company where he grew the creative marketing business three-fold, and has overseen finishing on more than 500 film campaigns for Sony, 20th Century Fox, and New Line. Recent blockbuster campaigns include "Hancock," "Sex & the City," and the upcoming "X-Files." In 1995 Rick was Manager of Creative Advertising for 20th Century Fox. He began his career at The Cimarron Group.

Alan Duke joined New Wave last year as General Counsel & Head of Business Affairs. He was most recently SVP and General Counsel at the G4 network. Prior to G4, Alan was EVP, Business Affairs for Miramax Television. He has also overseen Business and Legal Affairs as SVP for Walt Disney Television and Touchstone Television.

Greg Woertz joined New Wave in 2004 as Chief Financial Officer. Greg has been producing and overseeing feature film production since 1991 while working with esteemed film producers such as Dino De Laurentiis and Edward Pressman.
