Wheels and Deals and San Jose Harley-Davidson Offer Motorcycle Raffle to Help Bay Area Family Defray Medical Costs

SAN JOSE, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Wheels and Deals of Silicon Valley, and San Jose Harley-Davidson are raffling off a 1997 Harley-Davidson motorcycle to help a Bay Area family deal with outstanding medical expenses incurred during their teenager’s battle with a terminal illness. Brianna Kalina, 18, of Hayward died on July 5 after a two-year battle against lymphoma.

Medical insurance reached its maximum after the first six months of treatment, leaving Brianna’s family struggling to keep up with out-of-pocket expenses for radiation, chemotherapy and other treatments associated with her illness. The owners of Wheels and Deals and San Jose Harley-Davidson volunteered their support in April to help Brianna in her fight against lymphoma. Now they are directing 100 percent of the proceeds of the raffle to help Brianna’s family deal with the substantial medical expenses incurred during this long struggle.

I felt overwhelmed with the selflessness of everyone, from the donors of the bike to everyone else that has rallied to help this family in their time of need.”

The fundraiser raffle features a fully customized, well-maintained 1997 Harley-Davidson Dyna. The tickets will be available through September at Wheels and Deals, 3035 El Camino Real, Santa Clara and San Jose Harley-Davidson, 1551 Parkmoor Ave., San Jose. A drawing for the motorcycle is scheduled for Sept. 27. Tickets are available for a tax-deductible donation of $10.

The motorcycle will be featured in San Jose Harley-Davidson’s booth at the American Metal Bike and Car Show, Sunday, July 20, at 1551 Parkmoor Ave., San Jose. After that the motorcycle will be on display at Wheels and Deals of Silicon Valley.
