BOSTON--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Putnam Investments today announced quarterly performance results for Putnam Master Intermediate Income Trust (NYSE: PIM), a closed-end fund, over the three months ended June 30, 2008.

The per-share net asset value (NAV) for Putnam Master Intermediate Income Trust was $6.55 as of the close of business on June 30, 2008 . The per-share NAV for this fund was $6.66, as of March 31, 2008. The share price as traded on the New York Stock Exchange (NYSE) on June 30, 2008 was $6.04. The share price for this fund was $6.17, as of March 31, 2008. The funds total return for the three months ended June 30, 2008 was 0.27%, based on NAV, and (0.19)% based on NYSE share price.

Data for the fund for the period ended June 30, 2008 reflects the completion of an issuer tender offer in April 2008, pursuant to which the fund purchased approximately 15% of its outstanding common shares at a price equal to 99% of the NAV as of the expiration date of the tender offer. In addition, following the end of the period ended June 30, 2007, an issuer tender offer commenced in June 2007 was completed, pursuant to which the fund purchased approximately 10% of its outstanding common shares at a price equal to 98% of the NAV as of the expiration date of the tender offer.
