LAKEWOOD, CO, June 19 /CNW/ - Taranis Resources Inc. ("Taranis") (TSX.V: TRO) is pleased to announce that drilling has commenced with two diamond drill rigs on its Thor Property located southeast of Revelstoke, British Columbia.
Thor Property
Taranis owns a 100% interest in 27 Crown Grant Mineral Claims (273 hectares) which host the Thor volcanogenic massive sulphide deposit, and also owns 100% a number of Mineral Tenures (1,023 hectares) around the Thor property that is prospective for mineral deposits, as well as for potential exploitation activities.
2008 Drilling and Exploration Program
Taranis has engaged Atlas Diamond Drilling Limited to conduct a 10,000 m NQ-size diamond drilling program at the Thor Property, and Acme Analytical Laboratories Ltd. to complete analytical work on the drill core. The company will also undertake geological mapping of the property with particular emphasis to understanding the structure and alteration associated with the silver, lead, zinc, copper, gold Volcanogenic Massive Sulphide ("VMS") deposit.
President and CEO John Gardiner states "our 2008 drilling activities are focused in several key areas on the property outside of the True Fissure Zone, and are designed to comply with 43-101 standards for Resource classification, as well as testing a number of exploration targets outside of the known areas of mineralization that could significantly increase the prospective size of Thor.
