TORONTO (Reuters) - Toronto's main stock index opened higher on Monday as Royal Bank of Canada and its peers got a boost from hopes for further signs of a rebound in the global economy.

TORONTO (Reuters) - Toronto's main stock index opened higher on Monday as Royal Bank of Canada and its peers got a boost from hopes for further signs of a rebound in the global economy.

The S&P/TSX composite index rose 54.65 points, or 0.48 percent, to 11,559.41 at the open.
