Norton Resources Ltd. (TSX-V: NOT.V), $1.93, +$0.43, +28.67%, reached a high today of $1.95, with significantly higher volume from yesterday. Norton Resources, a mining company engaged in the exploration and development of mineral properties, reported on its newly obtained assay results stating that all fives holes intersecting the Eagle’s Nest mineralization, exhibit significant assay results including intersections of massive mineralization. One hole in particular intersected unusually high platinum grades within the massive sulphide mineralization. Norton Resources’ primary focus is its McFauld’s Lake Project.
NetApp Inc. (NASDAQ: NTAP), $31.03, +$1.41, 4.76%, is a supplier of storage and data management software and hardware products and services. The company is making gains today of over 4%, reaching a high of $31.10. NetApp reported on its second quarter of fiscal year 2010, ending October 30, 2009, with revenues of $910 million, compared to revenues of $912 million for the same quarter last year. Revenues for the first six months of the current fiscal year totalled $1.75 billion, compared to $1.78 billion for the same period the previous fiscal year. NetApp is also reporting on plans to expand its partnership with Fujitsu to provide more tightly integrated and automated storage and data management solutions.
China Marine Food Group Ltd. (AMEX: CMFO), $5.57, +$0.47, 9.22%, is making gains today reaching a high of $5.75. China Marine, through its subsidiaries, operates in the business of processing, distribution and sale of processed seafood products and frozen marine catch. CMFO announced its revenue and net income guidance for 2010 and based on current sales its forecasting that revenues in the coming year will be greater than $80.0 million. Furthermore, the company plans to launch a number of new products in 2010. Pengfei Liu, company’s chairman, stated “We are confident that our distribution base will meet our targets for the year and goals to expand their respective customer base. We see a continued pace of growth for the balance of the year, 2009, and leading through 2010."
Barrick Gold (TSX: ABX.TO), $46.52, +$0.42, 0.91%, is engaged in the production and sale of gold, as well as exploration and mine development, with a portfolio of 26 operating mines and a pipeline of projects located across five continents. Barrick Gold is making gains today reaching a high of $46.66. Barrick reported that the Pueblo Viejo Dominicana Corporation, 60% owned by Barrick Gold and 40% by Goldcorp Inc., received approval and the country’s President, Leonel Fernandez, has ratified the amendments to the Special Lease Agreement for the Pueblo Viejo project. President Fernandez stated "Pueblo Viejo represents the largest project in the history of the Dominican Republic, as such it is a clear indication of the trust and confidence that foreign investors have in our country's government, institutions and rule of law".
View Systems Inc. (OTCBB: VSYM.OB), $0.034, +$0.021, 161.54%, saw its share rise over 160% today, reaching a high of $0.049. The company announced that it has received an initial order for 40ViewScan units from Belcom, a Belhasa company in the United Arab Emirates. View Systems is a security and teledata solutions provider.
