Gold miners push TSX to a higher open

TORONTO (Reuters) - Toronto's main stock index rose at the open on Tuesday as higher gold prices pushed up Barrick Gold Corp and other gold miners, while upbeat U.S. corporate earnings buoyed sentiment.

TORONTO (Reuters) - Toronto's main stock index rose at the open on Tuesday as higher gold prices pushed up Barrick Gold Corp and other gold miners, while upbeat U.S. corporate earnings buoyed sentiment.

The S&P/TSX composite index rose 45.49 points, or 0.39 percent, to 11,583.88 at the open.
