Aspera Powers High-speed File Transfer Option for IBM Computing on Demand

EMERYVILLE, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Aspera, creators of next-generation software technologies that move the world’s digital assets at maximum speed regardless of file size, transfer distance or network conditions, today announced an agreement to provide its high-speed file transfer technology to IBM’s Computing on Demand (CoD) offering. IBM CoD members now have the option to access their integrated computing environment with Aspera’s high-performance file transport technology. The Aspera high-speed file transfer option installed on the member’s “home” management node in the CoD center and at the member’s location provides maximum transfer speed, total reliability and complete security to and from the off-site high-capacity computing center.

Using the Aspera option to connect to the IBM CoD center in Poughkeepsie, N.Y., customers in Hakozaki, Japan, reported a 50x improvement in transfer performance over FTP.
