Global Banks Premium Income Trust-Distribution, October 2008

BURLINGTON, ONTARIO--(Marketwire - Oct. 21, 2008) - Global Banks Premium Income Trust (TSX: GBP-UN.TO) (the "Fund") today announced that a monthly cash distribution in the amount of $0.05833 per unit of the Fund will be paid on November 14, 2008 to unitholders of record as of October 31, 2008.

A unitholder that has continually held units since inception will have received a total of $2.65 per unit as of payment date.
