Northern Continental Appoints New President, Director & CEO
Thu May 22, 12:38 PMVANCOUVER, BRITISH COLUMBIA--(Marketwire - May 22, 2008) - Northern Continental Resources Inc. ("NCR") (TSX VENTURE: NCR.V) has appointed Warren W. Stanyer as President, Director, and Chief Executive Officer.
Mr. Stanyer began his career in mineral exploration with Pioneer Metals Corporation ("Pioneer"). He was appointed Corporate Secretary of Pioneer in 1996 and Vice-President in 2000, serving in all aspects of Canadian public company administration, as well as assisting in the planning and execution of mineral exploration programs. Pioneer was acquired by Barrick Gold Corporation in 2006. Until 2007, Mr. Stanyer served as Corporate Secretary and Vice-President, Corporate Development, of UEX Corporation ("UEX"), a public uranium exploration company created by Pioneer and Cameco Corporation in 2001. With UEX, Mr. Stanyer gained experience in the integration of exploration techniques to search for new uranium deposits, especially in the Athabasca Basin area of northern Saskatchewan, where the Russell Lake Uranium Project is located. He joined NCR in December 2007 as Vice-President, Corporate Development. Mr. Stanyer succeeds Alan Crawford, who is leaving the NCR management team to pursue personal interests, but will remain as a Director of the Company.
