Urodynamix and Laborie Medical Expand Distribution Rights

Wed Oct 22, 9:00 AM

VANCOUVER, BRITISH COLUMBIA--(Marketwire - Oct. 22, 2008) - Urodynamix Technologies Ltd. ("Urodynamix") (TSX VENTURE: URO.V) today announced that it has amended its distribution agreement with Laborie Medical Technologies Inc. ("Laborie") to include worldwide non-exclusive sales, marketing and distribution rights for the Tetra(TM) Bladder Monitor System in the physician office and outpatient clinic markets in addition to the rights for the acute care setting previously granted.

Tetra is a non-invasive diagnostic medical device based on Urodynamix's near infrared spectroscopy (NIRS) technology. An accessory to Laborie's premium urodynamics systems, Tetra is used in conjunction with other non-invasive tests (including uroflowmetry and bladder ultrasound) to assess bladder function and aid in the diagnosis of LUTS. These symptoms are common in men with benign prostatic hyperplasia, or BPH (enlarged prostate), and Tetra provides clinicians with an alternative to more invasive, catheter-based procedures currently used to diagnose prostate obstruction and related conditions.

"This expansion of distribution rights demonstrates our commitment to our partnership with Laborie Medical, they were the first to market our NIRS product and conduct clinical trials with key opinion leaders," said Barry Allen, President and CEO of Urodynamix.

In May 2007, Urodynamix announced that it had entered into a worldwide licensing agreement with Laborie, the global market leader in urodynamics equipment and related products, to distribute uroNIRS technology in the acute care setting. The terms and conditions negotiated in the original agreement remain unchanged and apply to the amendment.
