2, 200 sq. ft. Holiday maze

TORONTO, Nov. 22 /CNW/ - Sears Canada is taking over Dundas Square in downtown Toronto from Sunday, November 23, 2008 to Wednesday, November 26, 2008 - with the installation of an impressive 2, 200 sq. ft. "No Peeking" maze. The maze is a fun customer appreciation event to promote the spirit of the Holidays in the city.

"Sears Canada is kicking-off the Christmas season and contributing to the magic of the Holidays by making wishes come true for children young and old, as they travel through the Holiday maze collecting a 'no peeking' gift bag with a guaranteed gift inside," said Dene Rogers, President & CEO, Sears Canada Inc. "We are approaching one of the busiest shopping week-ends of the year, and Sears wants to provide customers with fun ways to save money as well as offer a huge, warm statement in the heart of the downtown core at Dundas Square."

The Holiday maze follows similar rules to holiday gift-giving. Those who enter the maze will receive one "no peeking" gift bag. They cannot peek inside their bags. As they travel along the maze, they have the option to trade in their bags, but there is still 'no peeking' allowed! When they successfully complete the maze, they can open their gift bag and finally see what special gift it contains. Some bags may contain $5 cash cards, all the way up to $500 cash cards.

In addition to the maze, 'Peek Passes' containing a valuable Sears coupon will be handed out in the Square, and free gift wrapping will also be made available, making Holiday shopping at Sears that much more convenient. Customers also have the opportunity to enter a contest to win great prizes every day! These prizes include: an 8 GB Ipod, a 27" Toshiba LCD TV, a MIO GPS system, and a Canon digital camera. A special Holiday electric train provided by VIA will also be on site, providing fun rides for all, around the Square. In the spirit of giving, Sears will also be collecting donations at the Square in support of The Hospital for Sick Children's Kids Cancer initiatives.
