TSX drops 1 percent as energy shares unravel

TORONTO (Reuters) - Toronto's main stock index gave back an early gain and was 1 percent lower around midday on Monday as investors pocketed early gains made by Suncor Energy and its oil company peers ahead of the upcoming month-end.

TORONTO (Reuters) - Toronto's main stock index gave back an early gain and was 1 percent lower around midday on Monday as investors pocketed early gains made by Suncor Energy and its oil company peers ahead of the upcoming month-end.

At 12:05 p.m. (1605 GMT), the S&P/TSX composite index was down 116.57 points, or 1.02 percent, at 11,265.56.
