SupplyCore to Stock Corning Products in Support of DoD Installations in Middle East

ROCKFORD, Ill., Aug. 27 /PRNewswire/ -- With the growth of DoD installations in the Middle East, SupplyCore is expanding its core products stocked in its Kuwait City, Kuwait and Riyadh, Saudi Arabia warehouses to include Corning fiber optic network infrastructure solutions. Starting in 2009, SupplyCore will provide local stock of key cable and connectivity products from Corning to provide on-going spares, consumables, and product support for the various facilities, installations, and datacenters across the region that have an installed base of Corning's products. Local stock will include Corning Plug & Play(TM) pre-terminated trunk cables, Pretium(TM) connector housings, Unicam(TM) connectors, and Keyed LC patchcords and panels.

To date, SupplyCore's Kuwait City warehouse has primarily been used to support the DLA Prime Vendor Program for the CENTCOM region for Maintenance, Repair, and Operations (MRO) products such as building materials; power tools; HVAC, electrical, and material handling equipment; safety gear; and more. The MRO Prime Vendor Program that was created by the Defense Logistics Agency (DLA) to give federal agencies and military facilities a more efficient means of procuring MRO materiel from a pre-qualified, prescreened integrated supplier. As a pre-competed contract, the Prime Vendor program meets all FAR and DSCP guidelines, and any federal agency or military facility located within a prime vendor contract region may utilize the Prime Vendor Program to help streamline their purchasing process and reduce cost and complexity. In addition to the CENTCOM region, SupplyCore also holds Prime Vendor contracts for the North Central United States, Southeast United States, and Pacific Region.
