Nonverbal Communication Expert to Headline Dallas/IABC 2008 Quill Awards Luncheon
Tue Jul 29, 5:56 PMDALLAS--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Your work speaks for itself. It shouts greatness to your management, clients and peers. But what is your body language saying?
Nonverbal communication is more powerful than verbal expression, according to body language expert Carol Kinsey Goman, Ph.D. By understanding what your body is saying, you can become more confident, credible and persuasive.
Goman will explain how your professional success is tightly linked to your body language when she gives the keynote address at the Dallas International Association of Business Communicators (Dallas/IABC) 2008 Quill Awards luncheon. The event will be held Sept. 9, 2008, at the Charles W. Eisemann Center in Richardson.
People in professional settings are constantly telling each other exactly what they think and feel and often it has nothing at all to do with the words they speak, Goman says in her new book, The Nonverbal Advantage: Secrets and Science of Body Language at Work. The tiniest gesture, like the way your co-workers stand or enter a room, often speaks volumes about their confidence, self-worth and credibility. And the way you sit, stand or look at others reveals more about your true intent than you may realize.
The Dallas/IABC Quill Awards are presented annually to recognize excellence in communications within the Dallas/Fort Worth area. Past Dallas/IABC Quill Awards winners include such prestigious companies as Texas Instruments, EDS and Brinker International.
