NORTH PALM BEACH, Fla., Sept. 29 /PRNewswire/ -- Ira G. Warshaw, M.D., will open a new primary care practice designed to appeal to patients in search of a user-friendly alternative to the long wait times, rushed appointments and lack of personal interaction that most patients experience with their doctors.

The latest of several ModernMed practices nationwide, Dr. Warshaw will serve patients in the Central and North Palm Beach County area and is scheduled to open on Nov. 3. The practice will accommodate a maximum of only 500 patients, compared to the 2,500 patient load of the average primary medical practice.

Concierge medicine is gaining popularity across the nation as a growing number of Americans report dissatisfaction with current health care services. Studies have shown that adults in the U.S. report lower levels of satisfaction with their health care compared to residents of similar countries like the U.K. and Canada.

Dr. Warshaw places a strong emphasis on preventive health and believes that delivering quality medical care is a collaborative effort that requires active patient involvement. He lists good communication and easy access to care as critical factors in establishing effective, long-lasting patient relationships.

"I pride myself on my commitment to deliver the very best medical care to my patients," said Dr. Warshaw. "My goal is to help patients achieve their optimal health by being readily accessible and providing excellent care in a relaxed, comfortable environment."

The distinguishing characteristic of the practice is the extraordinary level of access to Dr. Warshaw and his staff. Regular office hours will be Monday through Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. and, in addition to guaranteed same-day or next-day appointments, Dr. Warshaw will make house calls to help those with limited access to care. Patients can also contact him 24 / 7 through email or mobile phone.

Dr. Warshaw will treat patients age five and older with a broad range of wellness services to complement his preventive approach to primary health care. Dr. Warshaw diagnoses and manages a wide array of medical issues including diabetes, heart disease, nutrition and weight management. Patients will receive annual comprehensive wellness exams and have direct access to their electronic medical records.

A graduate of Robert Wood Johnson Medical School in Piscataway, N.J., Dr. Warshaw is board-certified in Family Practice. He completed the Family Medicine Residency Program at the prestigious Brown University Medical School in Providence, R.I., notable for its community outreach programs.

Dr. Warshaw previously served as president of the Rhode Island Academy of Family Physicians before accepting a position with Good Samaritan Medical Hospital in West Palm Beach in 1993. There he assisted with the development of the Good Samaritan Primary Care group practice, served on the Executive Staff Committee and as chief of the Family Medicine Division.

He was named one of South Florida's Top Physicians in 2002 by Miami Magazine and is a member of the American Medical Association, the American Academy of Family Physicians, the Florida Medical Association and the Palm Beach Medical Society.

Located at 1216 U.S. Highway 1, Suite A in North Palm Beach, Dr. Warshaw is a member of ModernMed's forward-thinking primary health care service firm, focused on providing a revolutionary health care experience unlike any traditional medical practice.
