TORONTO (Reuters) - Toronto's main stock index shot higher at the open on Thursday, after a string of lower closes, as a rise in commodity prices helped boost shares of Barrick Gold and its gold-mining peers.
The S&P/TSX composite index rose 115.87 points, or 1.07 percent, to 10,921.20 at the open.
