BlueFire Ethanol to Present at the 2008 Micro Cap Financial Conference

Wed Apr 30, 8:39 AM

IRVINE, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--BlueFire Ethanol Fuels, Inc. (OTC: BFRE.PK), is changing the transportation fuel paradigm through the construction and operation of cellulose-to-ethanol production facilities in markets with the highest demand for fuel. BlueFire Ethanol has been invited to present at the 2008 AeA Micro Cap Financial Conference to be held in Monterey, California, May 4-6, 2008.

BlueFire Ethanol CFO Christopher Scott is scheduled to make a presentation to the general session, followed by presentations to several focus groups on May 6th. Scott will discuss how the company is deploying the worlds first commercially-ready, patented and proven Concentrated Acid Hydrolysis Technology Process for the profitable conversion of cellulosic waste ("Green Waste") materials to cellulosic ethanol. This form of ethanol from non-foodstocks is a completely renewable and highly-economical alternative to gasoline and other types of ethanol.

Scott will also talk about how the company recently began the prefabrication process for its first ethanol biorefinery in Lancaster, CA. The Lancaster facility will use post-sorted cellulosic wastes diverted from landfills in Southern California to produce fuel-grade ethanol.

BlueFire Ethanol was awarded $40 million from the U.S. Department of Energy and has been invited to submit a formal application for a DOE loan guarantee to assist in the financing of its ethanol production facilities.

Unlike remote corn ethanol production plants, BlueFires biorefineries will be located in markets with the highest demand for ethanol or other liquid transportation fuels. This dramatically reduces delivery costs and increases biofuels supply. It also provides a unique waste-processing technology that helps cities convert cellulose waste streams into transportation fuels and better manage the problem of limited landfill space.

Now in its 10th year, the AeA Micro Cap Financial Conference provides 100 AeA member public companies with an ideal environment to showcase their companies to some 300 key technology-oriented fund managers, institutional investors, investment bankers, and research analysts. In this exclusive three-day conference, company executives present their technologies, strategic missions, trend analysis, and other significant information to focused groups interested in technology companies with a market cap or annual revenues up to $200 million.

About BlueFire Ethanol

BlueFire Ethanol Fuels, Inc. is deploying the first commercially ready, patented, and proven Concentrated Acid Hydrolysis Technology Process for the profitable conversion of cellulosic ("Green Waste") waste materials to ethanol, a viable alternative to gasoline. BlueFire is the only cellulose-to-ethanol company worldwide with demonstrated production of ethanol from urban trash (post-sorted MSW), rice and wheat straws, wood waste and other agricultural residues. BlueFire Ethanol is one of six ethanol companies awarded funding from the U.S. Department of Energy for a planned ethanol production facility using cellulosic wastes diverted from landfills in Southern California. The facility will produce approximately 17 million gallons of cellulosic ethanol per year from green waste, wood waste and other cellulosic urban wastes.
